Clerics at least get armor, and Druids have wild shape, but Sorcerers and Wizards are glorified magical archers with no armor and d6 hit die for 90% of the campaign. Warlocks become the best spellcasters by a long shot while other spellcasters have to potentially wait weeks in game for their class' main ability to refresh. What /u/GAdvance means by "it completely wrecks the magic system" is that making short rests overnight and long rests a week long vastly favors abilities that refresh on short rests rather than long. So, if any of you have played with these two specific variants for a length of time (or even one or the other), how did it go? What did you think re: how it affected gameplay? I'm interested in any comments you may have on this subject. in addition to actual wounds, it seems to me like most adventurers are "realistically" going to take some injuries in combat situations that don't heal up with an 8-hour rest (ignoring, for the moment, the use of healing magic).
